VR Programs at the Lab
Virtual Reality is a computer-generated technology that immerses you in a 3D environment, incorporating visual, auditory, and sensory experiences that make you feel as if you’re in a different world. Although the technology isn’t new, the last 5 years have brought drastic industry change: as consumers get their hands on this innovative technology (VR’s price point remains somewhat reasonable), they find themselves utilizing equipment ranging from a $10 Google Cardboard to HTC Vive headsets for under $1000. The obvious applications of Virtual Reality are in gaming, but the breadth of implementations are truly limitless; businesses have customers use VR to tour their retail space or experience their products, all from the comfort of their own living room sofas. Healthcare and Military applications use VR for training procedures. Entertainment applications push the envelope, too, turning the audience member from passive viewer into protagonist saving a universe.
At Empow Labs, our VR classes range from introductory, fundamental programs, to hands-on, how-to lessons. Whether you are new to VR or an experienced professional, we’re confident in providing you the instructional content to broaden your knowledge.

Virtual Reality (VR): Program Details
What you’ll learn in VR
You will be learning how to use Unity, an industry-standard 3D creation platform with roots in game development, to create exciting VR / AR apps along with the popular/supported VR / AR software tools like HTC Vive SDK, Google VR SDK, Google’s ARCore, and hardware like the HTC Vive Pro headset, Daydream View VR headset with Android phone, and Google’s Daydream Standalone VR Headset.
You will learn the basics using pre-made objects and environments. Then you will begin to make your own 3D space and simple objects. Once you’ve mastered the fundamentals, that’s when things get interesting. You’ll learn C#, the programming language behind Unity. You’ll be able to export your projects for a number of different platforms, including the HTC Vive, Oculus, and others. You’ll also have access to audio engineering tools & equipment for sound design and audio recording.
